OpenFOAM v1906 Is Released

OpenFOAM v1906 from ESI’s Open CFD limited has been released and is now available for general download.

There are some cool new features that I’m looking forward to checking out. As always check the release notes for full details. First up for me though is the meshing across patches feature addition for snappy. I’m looking forward to trying this on some complex CAD where I have multiple surface patches but where I don’t need to have a cell boundary on the patch boundary.

Next, there are extentions to the GAMG solver to give much more fine control over the solution process, in particular for the final iteration at the lowest level of the decomposition.

Finally, a function object to compute the Lamb Vector has been added. This is yet another powerful post-processing tool to help understand the flow dynamics.
